| 1) Why do I need an email address? |
| An email address is necessary because all responses are transmitted by email. |
| 2) If I’m unable to complete my online report, what should I do? |
| We invite you to call 9-1-1. An employee will be able to offer you a solution to solve your problem. |
| 3) If I do not know the exact time the incident occurred, may I still file my report online? |
| YES. We only need the approximate time span (Ex: between 8pm and 6am) and the date. |
| 4) If I do not know the exact location where the incident occurred, may I still file my report online? |
| YES. Provided you know the name of the commercial building, public place, or intersection where the incident took place. (Ex: Fairview shopping center, La Ronde or Saint-Jean/Brunswick). |
| 5) Am I obligated to contact my insurance company? |
| NO, you are not. The first number that you will receive is your temporary report number, and then once your report is approved you will receive your official report number. The latter is the number you will give your insurance company. |
| 6) How do I get a copy of my report? |
| Once your report is approved, you will automatically receive an email confirming your report number as well as a PDF copy of your report |

| 7) Once the report is transmitted, can I still make changes or add information? |
| Yes, just return to the web site and follow the instructions. If the report is already approved, you must contact a reviewer by telephone (514-280-9494) at the Centre de Rédaction de Rapports d'Événements (CRRÉ) (report center), and he will do the necessary changes for you. If a reviewer requests further information or changes, you need to return to the website and chose the option titled "supplemental" and make the modification and correction asked. Please note that it is important that you respond within the next seven (7) working days of the request. If you have not responded within that period, the system will automatically reject your report. |

| 9) Why is it important to enter an object's serial number? |
| A serial number is unique. If ever the item is retrieved, it is traced back to the person who declared it lost or stolen. |
| 10) Can there be more than one victim for the same report? |
| No. If such is the case, please contact 9-1-1. |
| 11) What steps should I take to avoid being the victim of fraud if some id cards where stolen? |
| We suggest you contact Equifax and Transunion. These two companies control credit reports and will add this information to your report to protect you from fraud. It is also suggested that you contact the financial institutions and, or, banks that you do business with. |
| 12) What is the definition of a SUSPECT? |
| A SUSPECT is the individual who, while committing the crime, is seen by someone who can clearly describe him, knows him or recognises him. If you have noted the licence plate number of the vehicle used by the suspect, that is also considered relevant. |
| 13) What is the definition of a witness? |
| A WITNESS is the person who saw the suspect as he was committing the crime and knows him or can clearly describe him. |
| 14) How much time do I have to report an incident? |
| There is no specific period of time involved. Of course, a crime should be reported as soon as possible. |
